Dr. Amarinder Singh Bawa, a Ph D in Food Science, has excelled as food industry leader. He attended ‘Advanced Leadership Programme’ of Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, ‘Leadership for Innovation in Agriculture’ of Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, ‘Project strategies to achieve time-compression & to reduce time overrun in product dev elopement projects’ from Institute of Technology Management, Mussoorie, ‘Management development programme’ of Indian Institute of Managment, Bangalore and ‘Management of R&D systems’ of Administrative Staff College of India, Hyderabad.

He started his career as Assistant Professor, Punjab Agriculture University (Ludhiana), and subsequently joined as Scientist- C, CFTRI- Mysore, Scientist-Food Tech-PAU Ludhiana, Professor-GNDU Amritsar, Dean Applied Sciences-GNDU Amritsar, Prof. Cum Head-GNDU Amritsar. He was awarded distinction in M.Sc.Food Technology, Food Industry Fellowship in M.Sc.Food Technology, Certificate of Honour in B.Sc.(Agric.) 1972, ICAR Scholarship throughout B.Sc.(Agric.), Gardener’s Award for best research paper for the years 1989, awarded by AFST (I), CFTRI, Mysore, N.N.Mohan Memorial Award for best research paper of industrial importance, awarded by All India Food Preserver Association for the year 1986,1989,1999,2007 etc.
