Area of Expertise:Wine & alcoholic fermentation, waste management and utilization through microbial bioprocessing.

He is a PhD-Applied Botany (Microbiology), CFTRI, M.Sc-Botany and B.Sc Botany from University of Mysore. He is a Co-Founder & Technical Director, Salutary Nutrifoods (Mysore). He served as Head, Food Protection and Infestation Control, CSIR-Central Food Technological Research Institute (Mysore), Sr. Principal Scientist (Enology), Microbiology & Fermentation Technology (CSIR-CFTRI), Head-Post Graduate Department of Microbiology, Mangalore University (Madikeri) India. His major area of work: Wine & alcoholic fermentation, waste management and utilization through microbial bioprocessing. He was member of different Expert Committees viz: Independent Member of the Scientific Committee (FSSAI), Ex-Chairman of Committee of Alcoholic Beverages (FSSAI), Ex-Chairman of Committee of Water and Beverages-Non Alcoholic (FSSAI), Chairman of FAD-29 on alcoholic beverages (BIS-Govt. of India), Member of FAD-14-Drinks and Drinking Water Committee (BIS-Govt. of India), Member of Scientific Panel on Pesticides and antibiotic residues (FSSAI) etc.
