Prof. M.B.Bera, earned his M.Sc (Food Tech) and Ph.D degrees respectively from the Central Food Technology Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysore (Karnataka) and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur (WB). He had also earned PG Cirt. (Food Tech) as a MASHAV fellow from the Hebrew University, Jerusalem, Israel. He served as a faculty member of the department of Food Science & Technology, Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Viswa Vidyalaya, Jabalpur He joined as a professor in the department of Food Engineering & Technology, SLIET (Sant Longowal) Institute of Engineering & Technology, Deemed to be University, Established by Ministry of Education, Govt. of India) in the year 2000 and superannuated on 31st May 2023. He served as Professor & Head, Department of Food Engineering & Technology & Dean of the Institute and continued to serve as Dean (R&D), Dean (Planning & Devl.), Dean (Student & faculty welfare) and Dean (Academic). He Published 104 research papers in the reputed refereed journals (Scopus/WOS) Citation-1745, H -index 22 and i1-index-37. One book (1) published as co-author entitled "Experiments in Food Process Engineering". Another book "Food storage Engineering" is under publication by Applied Publishers, USA.
