Dr. Raosaheb Ramachandrarao Mohite has approximately 30 years of work experience. He has managed project consulting projects from concept to commissioning, including conceptualization, planning, implementation, and operationalization. He has held several key positions in such projects as cold storage, pre-cooling, cold storage, export packing houses for fresh produce, warehouses, and new product development, among others. In several of these projects, he has usefully contributed to areas of food quality and safety, good agricultural production practices, and risk management. Dr. Raosaheb Mohite, is a Doctorate in Food Science and Technology from the Institute of Food Science and Technology, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, at Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, USA. He has a Bachelors and a Masters degree from the College of Fisheries at Mangalore, of the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore (UAS-B), India. During post graduation studies he specialized in Industrial Processing Technology, Dr Mohite has years of experience working in Food Safety and Quality Control (FS and QC) areas, as it relates to a variety of foods and agricultural products. He has worked with variety of agricultural and horticultural crops, animal foods like seafoods. Over the years, he has worked as part of project in other related areas such as Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), ISO 9000, Quality Control and so on. Studied agri-value chains for over 10 years across India and in Eastern Africa (as UNFAO Consultant). The various projects that he participated/ involved were implemented by State/ National and International developmental agencies including: a) the Department of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare, GoI, several Public sector and State organizations and b) International agencies like the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), World Bank, German Development Cooperative (GIZ), United States Aid for International Development (USAID), Netherlands Government Development Fund (FMC), Environment Defence fund (EDF) of USA.

Dr Mohite was the Director (In-Charge) of the National Institute of Post Harvest Technology (NIPHT), at Talegaon – Dabhade, near Pune, Maharashtra. He also held the post of AVP for Research, Consultancy and Training, with a large private company and as Head (technical and administration) in an integrated value chain project supported by an international funding agency in India,
